20 Oct 2026
With only 7 goals conceded in 7 matches, Samu Silva’s start to the season in Israel has been highly positive.
Records show that this is the best individual performance by a goalkeeper for the club in the last decade, surpassing the 9 goals conceded during the same period in the 2019/20 season. By comparison, at this same stage last season, the club had already conceded 18 goals.
This week, in a 1–0 victory over Kiryat Shmona, he recorded his second clean sheet for Maccabi.
After being named the best goalkeeper in the Liga 2 last season while playing for Marítimo, Samu Silva made the move to the Israeli league and has established himself as a key player for Maccabi Netanya, who currently sit in sixth place in the league standings.
